One year anniversary and a 3 month old

We finally got around to ordering our wedding pictures! It feels good to have them ordered and know that we will be able to have our wedding pictures on the wall before the baby arrives. We don't have our album yet but we have an appointment in April. Our wedding album is called a Coffee Table Album and the cost includes meeting with the graphic designer and getting to help design our own album. It fits more pictures than a traditional Leather Album (approx. 80-85) and was actually cheaper. We have all our pictures for the album selected and categorized by page. Its so exciting and I cant wait to meet with the designer! It will take about a month to get a printed proof back and then about another month to get our actual album.

So, its funny to me that we will have a 3 month old on our One Year Anniversary. But I think its wonderful. If we can't find a babysitter we may not be able to go out for a nice dinner or out on the town but thats okay with me. It won't stop me from having a few glasses of vino! Maybe we will throw an Anniversary BBQ Bash. Hmm.......

Circus act or Pregnant woman?

I dont know about you but sometimes I feel like Im on display for my co-workers to gawk at. At my work, it is usually a day to day event for someone to stare at my belly when they speak to me or make comments about how Im starting to waddle. Today for example...I was walking down the hall minding my own business when I noticed that a co-worker of mine had stopped dead in her tracks about 20 feet in front of me and watched me as I walked down the hall. When I noticed that she wasnt just giving me the regular look-over, that she was actually staring at me, I smiled and called out hello to her. She says, "Now your really starting to waddle". Really? I hadnt noticed! I proceeded to explain to her that Im mainly walking like this because my Sciatic Nerve is acting up. Now, I dont think it was her intention to be rude by making that comment, it was just odd to me. Why do people feel they need to make comments like that?

In other work related news....I have been wearing tennis shoes to work because I do quite a bit of walking during the day and with being pregnant its more comfy for me. I never wore tennis shoes to work pre-pregnancy. Yesterday, my supervisor called me into her office to tell me that people were complaining that I was wearing tennis shoes and that I couldn't wear them anymore. My first thought....are you kidding me?? Who, seeing me 'waddle' down the hall with my tummy, would mind that Im wearing tennis shoes? I think I've earned it! Ahhh, the joy of working with all women.

Do you take sugar?

So, does anyone have a song, just one song, that makes them want to go crazy and jump on top of a bar and dance? For me, that song is Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard. I absolutely LOVE this song! Everytime I hear it I just want to start dancing. Lucky for me, there have been a few instances where I did get to jump on top of the bar and dance to it and, say what you will, it was a damned good time! A strong second would be You Give Love a Bad Name. I do love this song but it doesnt have the same power over me as the other. In case you haven't guessed yet, Im an 80's rock junkie...love the stuff! Im not a big music enthusiast and my collection of 80's rock is limited to a few choice bands. But I love it and can listen to my Cd's over and over. Before I was pregnant, I had many nights that involved my BFF coming over, cracking open a bottle (or usually two) of vino, cranking up the 80's rock Cd's and dancing crazily around my kitchen as we got nicely toasted. Ahh, those where the days!

Yep, those days were a blast but I do have to say that what is to come in the next few months totally kicks Bon Jovi's ass any day of the week. I had my fun and now Im ready to give that up (don't worry...I'll still have my crazy drunken girl's night's every now and then) and be a mommy.

Speaking of being a mommy, I feel like a old arthritic woman right now! My Sciatic Nerve is acting up and its pretty painful. Not very comfy but I'll manage. Also, we are starting our Lamaze/Infant Care classes today. Im pretty excited about them and looking forward to experiencing this with my hubs.

Scrapbooking

So, I've finally gotten around to working on our wedding scrapbook. Its about time!

I love to scrapbook and have about 4 books finished thus far. I am now working on one for our year of wedding preparation, wedding and honeymoon. My books are not elaborate by far, I dont spend a ton of money on supplies and do not create works of art. But I think that I do a good job and try to be as creative as I can with the supplies I have. I've gotten about 8 pages complete so far and I love flipping through and looking at the pictures. The year before our wedding was so wonderful!

After our wedding book is complete, I will have to start on a post-wedding book and a book for Poop Machine #1. Fun, Fun!

A litte about me...

Welcome to my blog! Im new to this blogging business but thought it might be fun to keep an online journal, per se.

So, I know you are anxious to hear all about me so here goes....

I married my wonderful husband in 2007 and we have our first baby on the way. Our wedding was beautiful and everything that we could've asked for. We got pregnant on our honeymoon and what a wonderful wedding present it was! We are so excited to meet our first little poop machine! I do have to say that pregnancy is the most amazing thing and Im really enjoying it.

The year before our wedding was like a party. We were planning our wedding and getting together with friends all the time, which included drinking. We had a LOT of fun but the drinking got a little out of hand. What can I say...I love my Vino! We had not always been very social but were getting there and having fun doing it. Now, our life is a lot calmer and has already changed drastically. If we were social before, we are hermits now. Not because we dont want to see anyone or dont want to go out but most of our time is spent preparing the house for the baby or running errands. We still see our closest friends now and then, its just not as much as we used to.

I know in the coming months our lives will change even more. Im interested in seeing how our friends react to us having a baby. We dont have family that lives near to us so finding a babysitter will be hard. We will have the baby with us most of the time. Im okay with that but it will be hard to hang out with friends or do certain things. Our closest friends range from single to married to married with children. All of them have different views on children but Im sure we can adapt our plans so that we can still stay close to these people even though we have children. Im sure that some relationships will suffer because of lack of understanding, etc. but I guess that's what happens sometimes. Its sad but its reality.

So, that's my life in a nutshell. Its nothing exciting but it's my life and Im happy with it. Stay tuned for my next post.....
